An Inauguration Day Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance as we embark on a new chapter in our nation’s journey. We thank You for the privilege of this moment, for the opportunity to serve and lead, and for the trust we place in those who represent us.
Lord, we lift up to You the sanctity of all human life. We acknowledge that every life is a precious gift from You, created in Your image and deserving of dignity, respect, and protection. We pray for the most vulnerable among us – the unborn. Please open the heart of our incoming president as well as the hearts of all members of government, federal, state and local, to defend and cherish life at all stages.
Grant us in these United States wisdom, courage, and compassion as we seek to build a society where life is honored and upheld and where abortion is unthinkable. Lead all elected officials to make policies reflecting a deep reverence for the gift of life and a commitment to ensuring that every individual, from conception to natural death, is treated with love and respect.
Father, we ask for Your guidance in fostering unity, healing, and understanding in a world often divided. May we be a country who listens with empathy, speaks with kindness, and acts justly in love. Help us to put the needs of others before our own, always striving to create a culture that protects the vulnerable.
We pray for our leaders, may they be inspired by Your love and guided by Your truth. May they have strength to stand for what is right, even in the face of opposition, and the humility to seek Your wisdom in all decisions.
We place our trust in You, knowing that with You, all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. May we walk in Your ways and be a blessing to You and all who know us. As Your servants, let Your peace reign in our hearts and in our nation knowing You alone are in control.
“if My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
~2 Chronicles 7
In Your holy name, Jesus, we pray.
Amen.
